On January 1st, the CS2 2025 service medal will be introduced. This special award is a great way to show your dedication to the game and your overall skill level.
To earn the service medal, participate in official game modes and level up your CS2 profile. Each level requires 5000 XP. When you reach level 40, the Global General Rank, your level will reset, allowing you to upgrade your current service medal. As a bonus, you’ll receive a weekly 5000 XP bonus just by playing.
Tips to Increase Your XP
To quickly earn your 2025 service medal and achieve the desirable Global General Rank 40, it’s crucial to maximize your XP gains. Here are some useful tips to help you level up faster.
Focus on Official Game Modes and Avoid Third-Party Platforms
Participate exclusively in official game modes offered by Valve. These modes are designed to award XP, whereas third-party platforms like ESEA and FACEIT do not give you any XP. While playing on community servers can be fun, they do not award you any XP.
Play Competitive and Casual Matches
Competitive matches offer substantial XP rewards based on your own and your team’s performance. You earn XP from winning rounds, kills, assists, MVPs, and objectives completed.
In Casual mode, the XP you earn is solely based on your performance. This game mode provides a more relaxed environment, where you can focus on improving your skills without the pressure of competitive play. It’s perfect for consistent XP growth.
Join operations and complete missions
Operations are special events that feature exclusive missions and objectives. By participating in these events and completing the missions, you can earn a significant amount of XP.
Avoid XP Reduction and Cooldown
To prevent XP reduction, always finish your matches, as leaving early can result in penalties and XP reduction. Additionally, CS2 has a system that detects when you earn too much XP too quickly. Once you reach the weekly cap of 11,166 XP, a cooldown is triggered, and your progress is slowed down to prevent XP farming.
