Following his debut victory at the BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1, Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski discusses his move from Complexity to FaZe Clan in an interview with Banks. He talks about how the transition happened, his excitement to join karrigan’s roster, and how he’s adapting to FaZe’s dynamic playstyle. EliGE also touches on team communication and areas for improvement after their recent performance.

How did the move to FaZe Clan come about?

“It was just right after the Major was done. Karrigan just sent me a message and asked if I was interested. We got on a call, talked CS for like 30-40 minutes, and then we pretty much just went on from there. So yeah, I was super excited right off the bat.”

But I felt like going to FaZe here and playing with Karrigan was something that I really wanted, and that’s what I chose.”

Was it an easy decision to join FaZe, and are you moving to Europe?

“Yeah, so I am moving to Europe because I kind of have to because I need the Schengen days, so I don’t have to worry about that. And I mean, it was an easy decision, I’d say, but I did have some other offers that were obviously good offers as well. But I felt like going to FaZe here and playing with Karrigan was something that I really wanted, and that’s what I chose.”

How does FaZe’s communication compare to Complexity’s?

“I’d say the comms kind of remind me of Liquid in like 2019 and 2018. I think that there’s a lot more stuff that’s on the fly where we’re trying to say everything really quickly, whereas on Complexity, it was just a couple of guys—more like me, JT, and hallzerk—that were saying a lot of stuff. But we also had a lot of code words that simplified a lot of comms, where here we do more things on the fly. Eventually, I want to help shorten down the amount of words so there’s a little bit less chaos because sometimes it’s just going crazy. If you get pushed at any time during those crazy CS moments, it can backfire a little bit. But overall, I think we have a lot of stuff to look forward to.”

How are you adapting to FaZe’s playstyle and in-game strategies?

“We’re pretty much making it so anyone can do a lot of things. We’re being pretty dynamic. As you saw on Ancient, I technically play A, but I can also do a lot of things. The A rifler usually helps take mid-control a lot too, right? So that’s why we have a lot of setups where we can be dynamic. We don’t just want Rain to play upper tunnels every single round on Dust 2. We want people to get into the action and activate our aggressive players because we have so many options of what we can do in these rounds. A lot of guys want to do stuff during the round and not be super passive, so it’s a good compromise that we have to find on all the maps.”

What areas need improvement after the Inferno loss?

“I would say that we kind of lost control of the T half when they were pushing us a lot. So I think just a little bit more of the protocols with that—making sure that we can shut down those rounds a little bit easier. But I don’t know. I feel like we got a little bit unlucky in some of the rounds. We played for one thing; they went for the other. I’m not sure. I really would have to watch the game back because I feel like I have a limited view of what happened.”
