The Move Is Now Official

After weeks of rumors and speculation, it’s now confirmed: m0NESY is leaving G2 and joining Team Falcons. G2’s CEO, Alban Dechelotte, publicly acknowledged the sale, calling the decision difficult but necessary.

The 18-year-old AWPer has been one of G2’s most valuable assets since joining in 2022. With this transfer, Falcons not only gain one of the most explosive talents in Counter-Strike—they also reunite him with his former teammate, NiKo.

A Massive $2.5M Deal

While neither organization has officially disclosed the transfer fee, reports suggest Falcons paid around $2.5 million for m0NESY. This would make it one of the most expensive player transfers in Counter-Strike history.

Falcons, backed by substantial financial resources, have been building a star-studded roster since late 2023—and this move further cements their ambition to dominate CS2 in 2025 and beyond.

The Contract Situation

At the time of the sale, m0NESY’s contract with G2 was due to expire in December 2025. According to the CEO of G2, Dechelotte, the organization chose to move forward with the sale to avoid the risk of losing him without compensation later in the year.

We had to make a tough decision because the contract was running out… That created uncertainty about how we build our future roster.

m0NESY’s Goodbye Message

Shortly after the news broke, m0NESY shared a personal farewell on Telegram. It’s a message that reflects both gratitude and closure—two and a half years at the top with G2, and now, a new challenge awaits.

Thank you to everyone who supported G2 and me all this time. This was a chapter that made me stronger. People who will stay in my memory forever. A team that was my home, my second family. Thank you for everything.

When Will He Start Playing?

m0NESY played his final matches for G2 during PGL Bucharest 2025, where the team reached the grand final.

His debut with Falcons is expected at IEM Melbourne, which kicks off April 21, 2025. His first Major appearance for the new roster is set for BLAST.tv Austin, beginning in June.

What This Means for Falcons and G2

For Falcons, this is a massive upgrade. m0NESY joins a lineup already featuring names like NiKo, turning the team into a serious contender for every major tournament in 2025.

For G2, it’s a huge shift. Replacing an AWPer of m0NESY’s caliber won’t be easy—and it raises new questions about the direction of their roster for the rest of the year.

One thing is certain: this transfer just changed the shape of the CS2 landscape.
