Virtus.pro announced the benching of their CS2 team captain, Dzhami “Jame” Ali, on Wednesday, December 11, after finishing in 14th place at the Shanghai Major, failing to their achieve their goals at the Shanghai Major.
CEO Nikolai Petrossian emphasized that, after extensive discussions, it was determined that Jame could not effectively fulfill both the in-game leader (IGL) and AWPer roles simultaneously. This led to the decision to bench him and explore alternative options for the team’s future.
Jame, joined Virtus.pro in December 2019 and has been instrumental in the team’s successes, including victories at IEM Rio Major 2022, Flashpoint Season 2, and cs_summit 7. He earned two MVP titles and was twice named among HLTV’s top players of the year.
I want to express my immense gratitude to everyone at Virtus.pro, where I spent so many unforgettable years! It has been the most successful period of my career, during which I learned a lot, met many interesting people, and won significant trophies.
