Astralis has announced that it is putting its women’s Counter-Strike 2 team on hold. The decision marks a shift in its competitive strategy as the organization reassesses its approach to the women’s CS2 scene.
Astralis launched its women’s team in 2022 as part of a broader effort to promote greater gender diversity in the esports industry. The team quickly made an impact, competing in several tournaments and building a strong reputation. Despite the team’s growth and achievements, the organization has concluded that continuing with the current setup is no longer feasible.
Sports Director Kasper Straube comments:
Unfortunately, we must acknowledge that the changes in the industry surrounding the women’s league no longer allow us to manage a women’s team in the way we believe it should be run at this time.
However, Kasper Strause expressed hope that, in the future, the organization may explore the possibility of developing a women’s project again if the right ambitions and opportunities arise.
After careful consideration, Astralis has decided to temporarily put its women’s team on hold.
